Leather Outfits Size Guide

Leather attire is somehow an investment; therefore, it is important to consider all the factors before paying for it. Besides material, color, pattern, style the most essential thing is its size. If a leather outfit doesn’t fit well, it neither fulfills the requirement of style and trend, nor gives the complete satisfaction to consumer. So it is important to take the right sized outfit and for that measurement of accurate size should be taken. Taking a right size of leather jackets, coats and pants is a bit different than usual attires.

Here are some instructions on how to take the right size of leather attires.

Leather Jackets:

Leather Jacket is a short length coat, worn as the top most attire to cover the upper part of the body. For taking the size for a jacket, you have to measure shoulder width, chest width, body length and sleeves length as shown in the picture.

Shoulder Width:

To take the measurement of the shoulder, measure the size across the shoulders.

Chest Width:

Measure the chest below the armpits, for that stand straight and wrap the measuring tape under the armpits on the upper most part of the chest and measure.

Body Length:

Put the measuring tape on the shoulder and measure up till the waist by keeping the tape downwards.

Sleeves Length:

To measure sleeves, keep the measuring tape on the top of the arm and measure up till wrist.

 

Leather Coats:

Leather coat normally has a longer length than the jacket. However, it is also worn as a top most attire. The requirement of measurement is a bit different than the jacket. The required measurements for a leather coat are:

Chest Width:

To measure the chest width, wrapped the measuring tape round the largest part of the chest below the armpits in circumference.

Waist Width:

To take the measurement of the waist, wrapped the tape round the waist and measure in circumference.

Shoulder Width:

Place the measuring tape on one shoulder and measure across to the other.

Bottom Width:

For measuring the bottom, round the measuring tape to the hip and measure from the left to right (normally take this round circumference measurement until the body length).

Body Length;

Body length is measured by keeping the measuring tape in the center of the neck (back side) and measure down ward up till the hips.

Sleeves Length:

To measure Sleeves length, keep the measurement tape on the edge of the arm and measure downward up till wrist.

 

Leather Long Coats/Trench Coats:

Leather long coat normally have a length up till under the knees. To take the measurement of a long coat, you have to measure body length up till the end of the knees and bottom width is taken by wrapping the tape round the knees (keep the tape as loose enough as per the requirement of the bottom width) while the other measurements remain the same as leather coat.

Leather Pants:

Leather is considered the fashion forward and styled attire, mostly worn for special occasions to capture the attention, or to take a bike ride, and to look smart. However, it is most important to buy the right size, which fits you the best. Before buying a pant, following measurements should be kept in mind.

Pants_Size

Waist:

To measure the waist, wrap the measuring tape round the waist and note down the measurement. The measurement of the waist is always taken in circumference.

Outer Length:

To take outer length, place the measurement tape on the waist and measure downward up till the ankle or till the required length.

Inner Length:

To take the inner length, place the tape on the seam and measure downward up the ankle or according to the required length.

 

Some useful Instructions:

Keep in mind the following instructions while measuring:

  • Measure on the clothes you wear them underneath; don’t take measurement when you are putting on heavy clothes.
  • Use a flexible cloth measuring tape; note your measurements in centimeters or inches.
  • Don’t keep the tape tight.
  • Don’t try to take your measurement by yourself, ask for a good helper.
  • Stand straight, breathe normal. Don’t suck in or push out.
  • Keep a record of measurement for future references.
  • Keep the tape on fullest parts of the body while taking measurements in circumference.
  • Add one inch in straight measurement and 2 inches in circumference measurement, if loose attire is required.
